There are two critically important questions I offer to any talent in our industry as they set out to do whatever it is that they are trying to accomplish.

The first question is… HOW WILL YOU KNOW WHEN YOU’VE MADE IT?

It is essential to clearly articulate what success looks like to you. Is it working for a specific company? Is it making a certain amount of money per year? Set a course to steer yourself in. Without something chartered, you may find it very difficult to navigate through your progress.

The second question I pose to talents is… THEN WHAT?

Suppose you get on the magazine cover you wanted; or what if you hit your financial goal. Then what? Since I don’t imagine that most will simply just cash in their chips – think about the big picture of what you are attempting to do. What comes next?
